What is Toxicology?

Toxicology is the study of adverse effects of chemicals, biological agents, or physical agents on humans and other living organisms. This is the scientific discipline whose studies determine types of hazard(s) (e.g., cancer, birth defects) that are associated with specific chemical exposure and types of exposure scenarios (concentration, route, and duration) that are associated with de minimis risk.
