Veritox® Incorporated

Indoor Air Quality

VERITOX®'s Certified Industrial Hygienists are experienced investigators of indoor air quality (IAQ) issues in the industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. We assess concerns related to odors, soot, chemical contamination, mold or other bioaerosols, ventilation, temperature, and humidity. In these investigations, it is our experience that it is important to consider all potential factors that contribute to comfort or health complaints.

We anticipate potential problems, develop monitoring strategies, conduct sampling, and interpret results. We may monitor carbon dioxide or carbon monoxide levels, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to assess odors, particulates and soot, or other contaminants. Short term samples may be used or long term sampling may be done over days at a time to determine trends. We recommend changes for IAQ improvement. In addition, our in-house toxicology and medical expertise can be called upon when questions about health risks arise.

VERITOX® has evaluated the potential bioaerosol contamination of building interiors and air-handling units after water damage in many types of buildings. We coordinate with other building professionals, conduct site inspections, collect surface samples and air samples, interpret the results appropriately, and make practical recommendations for cleanup. We evaluate the performance of ventilation systems against ASHRAE criteria. We evaluate the potential for legionella contamination in water systems in buildings. We also assist in risk communication with employers and employees.
