Biographical Sketches

Lonie J. Swenson, MS, CIH, RPh

Lonie J. Swenson, MS, CIH, RPh, holds positions as Principal and Vice President of VERITOX®. She has a Masters of Science in Environmental Health and Toxicology from the University of Washington. She serves as a Consultant for toxic tort litigation activities and is currently a Project Manager for several ongoing litigation projects. Ms. Swenson is also a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and a Registered Pharmacist.

Ms. Swenson also has over 13 years of applied clinical and academic pharmacology experience. She was a Clinical Instructor with the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy and at the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy. She has been a consultant for several national litigation projects involving pharmaceuticals that included evaluating pharmacokinetics, drug stability, adverse developmental effects, and adverse drug reactions.

Ms. Swenson is a Certified Industrial Hygienist with experience in air quality studies, construction health and safety, hazardous waste site health and safety, and education and training for HAZWOPER 40-hour training and refresher training. She has conducted biological assessment of buildings undergoing remediation as part of property transfers, evaluated microbial contamination of air handling units, and conducted air monitoring to evaluate exposures to silica, metals, and dusts.

Ms. Swenson has conducted numerous probabilistic and deterministic toxicological and radiological risk assessments for contaminated sites throughout North America. These include the first CERCLA risk assessment for the Hanford Site (Washington State, U.S.A.), some of the first contaminated site risk assessments in several Canadian provinces, and an evaluation of the US EPA lead model for ASARCO. Ms. Swenson has been a Project Manager and primary author for a number of risk assessment guidance documents, including the Hanford Site Risk Assessment Methodology (HSRAM) for use in conducting all risk assessments at the Hanford Site and a primary contributor to the British Columbia Ministry of the Environmental Risk Assessment Framework.
